Born in Kingston, Jamaica Ewan McAnuff grew up in Claremont,in the parish of St. Ann. 
He received his early education at the Claremont All Age School and then attended Ocho Rios 
Secondary School where he met Frank Brown, his first Art tutor, who was to be a 
great inspiration to young McAnuff.

       With Frank Brown's encouragement and guidance, McAnuff entered the 
Jamaica School of Art (now Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing
